Proud Lilywhites – AGM, Members Survey and 2015/16 Strategy

The Proud Lilywhites held their Annual General Meeting on Saturday 25th July at White Hart Lane. We were delighted to be joined by members and representatives from Wise Thoughts – Haringey’s only designated LGBT outreach service.

In addition Co-Chair Chris Paouros presented the Annual Report which highlights the incredible work undertaken by the group over the past year.

We hope you agree, it is impressive reading and we aim to build on this solid foundation over the forthcoming season. Some key points:

  • Our membership has doubled to 150 since our launch, and we have built a solid online and media presence featuring in national newspapers and television shows
  • We are proud to be the first LGBT fan group to have Co-Chairs of different genders demonstrating our commitment to equality across the board
  • Our flag flies proudly at White Hart Lane – a real and visible sign of solidarity with the Club and our excellent relationship with them
  • We have played a key role in the creation of Pride In Football – the alliance of LGBT fan groups in the UK

We also made some changes to our constitution and adopted a Code of Conduct which is applicable to all members of the Proud Lilywhites. You can view the updated constitution and Code of Conduct here.

Finally, elections for committee posts were held. The results are as follows:

Co-chair: Chris Paouros
Co-chair: Simon Gray
Secretary: Richard Bielby
Treasurer: Tanya Dunne
Match-day co-ordinator: Philip Barber
Communities officer: Daniel Harvey
Entertainments officer: Angela McGloin
Non-portfolio officer: Emily Macaulay

You can read their biogs here. Congratulations to all successful candidates, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed over the past season.

We still have the position of Communications Officer unfilled, and welcome more members to join the committee. If you are interested in either of these opportunities, please let us know via our contact form.

So, what’s happening now?

We have analysed the results from the members survey – click here for a summary findings.  We are now devising our strategy for the season. We’ll taking in to account everything we’ve learnt from the past year and will be presenting this to the Club to affirm their support. We will of course keep our members up to date with progress.
