I first became aware of the Proud Lilywhites having seen the flag at White Hart Lane on Sky Sports. After a quick Google search and few minutes trying to find my Client Reference Number my application form was on its way to Lilywhites HQ and a few days later I was a signed up member.
My first Proud Lilywhites activity was going along to the committee meeting at the end of March, having attended the Pride In Football arranged England vs Lithuania match meet the week before. Since joining just a couple of months I have been to a Spurs Ladies match, a Spurs Under 23s match, filmed for a BBC show about homophobia in football and attended six match screenings.
Have found the group members to be very welcoming and have recommend joining to other LGBT Spurs fans I know. The Proud Lilywhites has the perfect blend of football, campaigning and socialising which is quite an achievement. The group is clearly held in very high regard by Tottenham Hotspur FC which is a credit to both the Proud Lilywhites and THFC too.
I look forward to attending more events in 2017. (Though am unsure if my liver is as enthusiastic!)

More than 30 people packed the Beehive in Tottenham for the first of our FvH month of action events.
In what is expected to be an annual fixture, the Proud Lilywhites routed the Gay Gooners 50-35 in our first head to head pub quiz. Over eight rounds of questions including a difficult cryptic set, we battled hard to claim the first prize of the week as we build up to the 5-a-side on Tuesday and the Kick It Out Season of Action game on Saturday.
We were delighted to also welcome a teams of local players and the London Romans, our local LGBT football team.
The photos below capture the victorious team and the other competitors.
We will be hosting a pub quiz with the Gay Gooners at the Beehive Pub, Bruce Grove, Tottenham on Sunday February 1st – we’ll start the proceedings at 6pm, so get there early!
Come along and join one of the quiz teams or bring some friends and make a team of your own.
Let’s get ready to do battle against the other lot. Feel free to show your team colours and wear your team kit shirt — particularly those sporting a cockerel!
You don’t need to register, but it will help us if you do.

A good time was had by all who attended our end of season meal in a local Spanish tapas bar after the Villa game. Our next event is on June 22nd when we will be getting together in a pub to watch the World Cup game between Belgium and Russia. The Belgian squad has more Spurs players then any other in the tournament.
To join us visit our Facebook page.
We will be hosting a World Cup get together in the Goose pub (203 High Rd, London N22 6DR, opposite Wood Green tube) from 4pm (KO 5pm). Belgium will be playing Russia so come along and cheer on our three boys against the World Cup’s pantomime villains.
There will be a chance to win Spurs prizes including a signed photo of Player of the Season Christian Eriksen and Goalscorer of the Season Sandro.
